CALHOUN COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A Calhoun County man continues to recover after being shot in the face.
Now, Jose Rodriguez Cisneros, 38, is charged with attempted murder, intimidating a witness and felony possession of a firearm.
Calhoun County Sheriff Greg Pollan says the victim, Billy Chaney, was shot at point blank range on Sunday at a home on County Road 103.
The call initially came in to deputies as a self inflicted wound.
Once investigators started talking with Chaney he told them that Cisneros shot him.
Pollan says Cisneros is claiming self-defense.
Cisneros remains in jail.
