PONTOTOC CO., Miss. (WCBI) – The suspect claimed self-defense, but Wednesday, the jury didn’t believe him.
Sergio Sebastian Gonzalez is found guilty of aggravated assault with
a deadly weapon against Andres Gonzalez.
It happened two years ago. Prosecutors in the First Circuit Court say while Gonzalez and his wife were separated, she obtained a protection order against him.
Gonzalez violated the order, and was charged with attacking the victim, who was visiting in the home.
Gonzalez allegedly used a knife and stabbed the victim numerous times.
Judge Jim Pounds has sentenced Gonzalez to 20 years in prison.
The Pontotoc County Sheriff’s Department investigated the case.
