
LEE COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – Two children are in the hospital after reportedly being hit by a car in Lee County.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol says the call first came out as a collision, but troopers found out the children were hit by a vehicle.
A spokesman from the Lee County School District says the accident happened about 7-15 this morning on Highway 178 between Skyline and Mooreville.
According to a release from the school district, both students were female.
A 15-year-old 9th grader at Mooreville High School was taken by ambulance to North Mississippi Medical Center in Tupelo.
An 11-year-old 5th grader at the elementary school was taken by helicopter to LeBonheur Children’s Hospital in Memphis.
The Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating the accident.
