TISHOMINGO CO., Miss. (WCBI) – Two men are jailed on drug charges in Tishomingo County following a traffic stop.
43-year-old Kevin Smith and 52-year-old Charles Deshaizer were arrested Friday when Tishomingo County Sheriff’s deputies pulled them over for reckless driving.
During the stop, a deputy said he noticed what looked like drug paraphernalia in the vehicle in plain view and asked Smith and Deshaizer to step out of the vehicle.
Both men complied to a consent to search, and the deputy found meth in Deshaizer’s pocket and in a hidden compartment in the vehicle.
When they got to the jail, a corrections officer found meth on Smith.
Smith is charged with felony introducing drugs to a correctional facility, and Deshaizer is charged with felony possesion of a controlled substance with intent to sell.
Both Smith and Deshaizer remain in the Tishomingo County Jail awaiting bond to be set.
