COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI) – Two people were arrested in Columbus after a shooting in New Albany.
Ladarius Doss, 21, of Columbus and Khailynn Chapman, 20, of Okolona are both facing charges.
New Albany Police Chief Chris Robertson said the duo went to the Walmart to buy a cell phone from a person in the parking lot.
Investigators said money was exchanged but Chapman wanted to cancel the deal.
Robertson said the buyer attempted to leave the parking lot and Doss reportedly shot at the victim.
No one was injured but there were a number of shoppers nearby.
Robertson said Okolona police and Chickasaw County deputies helped identify the suspects. Columbus police later arrested them.
He credited those agencies with the quick arrest.
