CALHOUN COUNTY, Miss. (WCBI) – A Calhoun County man is accused of raping his daughter and fathering her child.
Jose Antonio Maldonado, 48, is charged with rape and possession of marijuana in a motor vehicle.
Sheriff Greg Pollan says the 22 year-old victim recently called deputies after Maldonado sent her a text message demanding she be at home.
The woman told investigators her father raped her several times over a period of several years.
Pollan says some incidents happened in Calhoun County and others happened in Florida.
He believes one of the alleged rape incidents resulted in a child that is now eight months old.
Pollan says the investigation is ongoing and more charges will be filed.
Deputies are trying to determine if Maldonado is a U.S. resident.
