COLUMBUS, Miss. (WCBI)- Columbus police need the public’s help finding a suspect in an attempted hotel robbery.
The crime happened at the Wingate Hotel in Columbus, just after 4 a.m. on Saturday.
Officials said the suspect entered the hotel, went behind the check-in counter and tried to open a safe. That was when an employee heard the robber and confronted him.
In his escape, the robber pushed the clerk away, leaving the hotel empty-handed.
The employee was not seriously injured in the incident.
The suspect is described as a medium build black male with a blue shirt, blue pants, a bandana and a bright gold tooth.
